Privacy and your data
Short version: this page collects nothing about you or your child unless you fill in the enquiry form, and that form is for adults only.
The zero child data rule
Pocket Money Adventures does not collect, store or process identifiable personal data or personal financial data from children. That applies to this page, to our classroom work and to everything in between.
Ten Minutes in Silverton stores nothing. Naming the mechanisms so you can check rather than trust us: no cookies, no localStorage, no sessionStorage, no IndexedDB, no analytics, no third-party scripts of any kind. The story you pick, the answer you give and the coins you move exist in the page’s memory while the tab is open and nowhere else. Closing the tab ends it. There is no account, no login and no score.
What this page does not do
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no heatmaps, no visitor counting by us.
- No cookies at all, which is why there is no cookie banner.
- No advertising, no third-party trackers, no data sold or shared for marketing.
- No fonts, scripts or images loaded from anybody else’s server. Everything on this page is served from this site.
One thing that does happen, and we would rather say it than let you assume otherwise. Like every website anywhere, the server that sends you this page keeps standard request logs, which include an IP address. Those are Netlify’s ordinary hosting logs, kept briefly for security and abuse prevention. We do not read them, we do not analyse them, and they are not linked to anything you did on the page. But “no visitor counting” means we do not count you. It does not mean no record of the request exists anywhere.
The enquiry form
If you fill in Host a reading moment, we receive what you typed. That form is for adults acting for a school, library, Family Hub or community group.
| What we collect | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name, organisation, email, town or area | To reply to you and work out whether we can reach you |
| Type of setting, rough number of children, preferred timing, access needs | To plan a session that actually fits |
| Anything you type in the notes box | Because you chose to tell us |
| Your consent tick | It is our lawful basis for replying to you |
Please do not type a child’s name or details into the form. We do not want them and we will delete them if they arrive.
Who else sees it
Form submissions are handled by Netlify, which hosts this site, and are stored in our Netlify account until we export or delete them. Our email runs on Microsoft 365. Both are processors acting on our instructions. Netlify records a truncated IP address with a submission as a spam-prevention measure.
Where it goes. Netlify Inc. is based in the United States, and Microsoft 365 may process data outside the UK. Transfers rely on the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the receiving organisation is certified under it, and on the ICO’s International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses where it is not. If you would like to see the transfer risk assessment, ask dpo@pocketmoneyadventures.co.uk and we will send it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that go nowhere: deleted within twelve months.
- Enquiries that become a session: adult contact details kept for twelve months after the work ends, then deleted. Sooner if you ask, and within ten working days if you withdraw.
- Signed agreements: six years, because that is how long we have to be able to evidence them.
- Anything about a child: we do not hold it, so there is nothing to keep.
One boundary worth stating. Everything above is about this website. If we run a session in your setting and a safeguarding concern arises, that is a different thing under a different policy: we would record what was said and pass it to your Designated Safeguarding Lead the same day, and that record is kept as our safeguarding policy requires rather than deleted at twelve months. We say this because “we hold nothing about children” is true of the website and would be misleading if we let it stand as a blanket statement.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent. Email dpo@pocketmoneyadventures.co.uk and we will act within one month. If we get it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Photographs. We take no photographs or film of children at Read, Talk, Choose activities. Elsewhere, Pocket Money Adventures takes an image only with opt-in written consent from a parent or carer, recorded on our consent form, asked separately for internal use and for external use, and withdrawable at any time. We never publish a child’s full name with their image. That is set out in our Photography, Filming and Image Consent Policy.
Who we are
The data controller is Pocket Money Adventures CIC, a community interest company registered in England and Wales, company number 16994988. Registered office: 68 Nottingham Road, Eastwood, Nottingham NG16 3NQ. Registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, ZC124930.
We are not required to appoint a statutory Data Protection Officer and we have not appointed one. The dpo@ address is a named responsibility inside the company rather than a designated DPO under Article 37, and we would rather tell you that than let the address imply otherwise.
