How to read this with them
Follow what interests the child. You can say the repeated line together, make a sound, act it out or just listen. Leave space for a reply without requiring one.
Some stories leave the character with a choice. You can imagine an ending, talk about something else or choose another story.
Look back at the story
Something to notice, only if you feel like it
Look back at the story or point to a detail you remember. You can skip these questions.

And one thing to talk about
There is no right answer, and passing is a real answer. If they would rather draw it or point at it, that counts too.

Books to look for next
Books by other creators. PMA receives no payment from these suggestions. Your library can help you find an available title or something similar.
Wordless picture books offer another way in: explore the pictures and tell the story together. Ask your library for ideas.
Find your local library
Ask the library team about joining, book availability and accessible formats. Stock, reservations and any charges vary by service.

Tap. Tap. Pause.
Explore a money choice from the story. Use the character’s situation, not your family’s finances. You can return to the books at any point.
Tap once, on either wrist. “Do I need it, or do I want it?”
Tap again, so you notice. “If I get it now, what can’t I get later?”
Pause. Take one breath, then choose whether to save, spend or share some, if sharing is possible.
Prefer not to tap? Take a breath, touch a pause card, or use another cue you agree together. Either wrist is fine and the place has no special effect. Keep the two questions and the pause.
Then ask, about the character
The reason matters more than the answer.

Mum's rule, from the story
Save some. Spend some. Share some if you can.
Ava has ten pretend coins. Any split works. Sharing is an invitation, never a rule — a jar left on zero is a perfectly good answer.
