The Glow Ball

Ava and Louis had a dark-blue ball. The park was dark too, and their shots kept disappearing into a hedge.

Four nil to the hedge.

On the way home, they saw a glowing ball for seven coins. They had nine coins between them. Five belonged to Louis and four to Ava.

‘Nine is more than seven!’ said Ava.

Louis read the instructions. The ball needed to sit in the light first. It would not glow for ever.

A glowing ball could still land in the hedge. It might simply be easier to see.

Before buying something together, Ava and Louis would both need to agree about their own coins.

The ball glowed in the window. Two players, one ball and a conversation to have before the next game.
