Two Buckets and a Bit of Rope

Louis had permission to borrow Mr Mean's two green buckets. He suggested using them, with a rope, to make goals. The buckets had to go back by five.

Ava wanted a proper net. A net made her favourite sound:

SWISH!

Goalposts with a net cost ten coins. Ava had six. The borrowed buckets were available that afternoon without spending anything.

‘Rope doesn't swish,’ said Ava.

‘Rope is here, though,’ said Louis.

Ava imagined scoring. She made the noise again.

SWISH!

She could play with what was there, keep saving towards a net, or think of another plan. Wanting the net was not wrong.

Two green buckets waited for their afternoon. There was still time for a game and a decision about the six coins.
