Shorter tellingThe Cardboard Cup
A Silverton story, narrated by Walbot. Read, echo, act or listen.
Ava wanted a gold trophy. The shop one cost seven coins. She had seven.
Louis found an empty cereal box.
“That isn't a trophy,” Ava said.
Not yet.
Mum helped cut it. Ava chose big handles. Louis made a base. They wrapped it in leftover foil.
The cup fell over. They made the base wider. Now it stood!
“It doesn't say anything,” Ava said.
Not yet.
With Mum's help, she wrote MADE BY US.
The trophy leaned proudly on the shelf. Ava kept her seven coins. Then she spotted an empty foil roll.
“That isn't a telescope…”
Louis smiled.
