Shorter tellingThe Crunchy Sponge
A Silverton story, narrated by Walbot. Read, echo, act or listen.
Louis picked up an old work sponge. It stayed the shape of its bucket.
It has gone crunchy.
“Like a biscuit!” Ava said.
Louis had five coins, already planned for a torch, saving and a doughnut. Would new sponges change his plan?
Mum suggested asking Mr Mean.
It has gone crunchy.
“Work sponges are mine to supply,” Mr Mean said. He found fresh ones.
Louis's plan could stay. Ava drew the old sponge as a square monster with crumbs for ears.
“It eats bubbles,” she explained.
I checked that it didn't eat robots. Ava promised it didn't.
